// A Bit About Me
Irina – The Human Compass Guide
Although my professional path began far from the travel world, my heart has always pointed toward discovery.
I’m a banker by trade and a wanderer by soul — a curious traveler who finds meaning in culture, people, and the stories that connect us all.
For me, traveling isn’t about ticking places off a list. It’s about feeling the pulse of life in every encounter — from a quiet street café to an ancient temple, from a stranger’s smile to a mountain sunrise.
I believe courage and curiosity are the true passports of the soul.
Through this space, I invite you to explore not only destinations but perspectives — to find the beauty of being human everywhere we go.

Today
Me in 2005
2005 — A Girl in Bank Shoes, With a Traveler’s Heart and a Ticket to Destiny
In 2005, I was young, I had just started my first job in a bank, in a world of numbers, discipline, procedures, and grown-up responsibilities. Travel? That was a distant universe — beautiful, fascinating, but not one that felt like it was mine. I didn’t dream of exploring the world…I dreamed of doing my job well, learning fast, and proving I deserved to be there.
And maybe exactly that — without me even knowing — opened my first door.
Because of my dedication, I won a 5-star trip to Barcelona.
When I found out… I cried. But not from joy — from fear.
I didn’t have a passport. I didn’t have the money to get one urgently.
It felt like destiny was offering me something magical… but impossible. And yet, a part of me didn’t give up. I found a way, rushed the process, borrowed courage from somewhere deep within — and got on the plane.
Barcelona was not just a trip.
It was an awakening.
There, without fear, without a plan, I did — instinctively — what would later shape my path:
✦ I guided my first group of tourists — my colleagues, who didn’t speak Spanish.
✦ I navigated the city using public transport, as if Barcelona was quietly guiding me in return.
✦ I used my Spanish skills in conversations, directions, tickets, and small exchanges of curiosity and smiles.
✦ I discovered the joy of leading, showing, translating, connecting, and bringing people closer to places through stories.
I didn’t know then that guiding would one day become part of who I am.
I didn’t know I was stumbling into my true identity, not just a new city.
But I remember what I felt:
✨ Confidence — that I could do it
✨ Curiosity — to see more
✨ Wonder — at how wide the world becomes when you allow yourself to feel it
✨ And gratitude — for everything life gives you when you dare to say yes
That trip didn’t just teach me about Barcelona.
It taught me about myself.
It showed me that:
the world becomes bigger when you make space for it within you,
and you become bigger when you make space for yourself in the world.
Yes, I was a young woman at the start of life, with responsibilities, routines, and practical worries.
But beyond spreadsheets and schedules, a compass was quietly waiting inside me.
And there, in 2005, in Barcelona,
its needle finally moved.
